Our Founder

Ramesh Lalwani

Founder President

Born in the holy city of Kashi in a humble, lower-middle-class family that had endured the struggles of partition, our Founder grew up listening to the stories of his grandfather and father who had migrated from Sindh. Despite financial and social challenges, he pursued life with perseverance and transformed the hardships of being a refugee into an opportunity for service.

In 2005, a long-cherished wish to visit the land of ancestors was fulfilled with a journey to Sindh, exploring historical sites like Mohenjo-Daro, the Indus River, and his ancestral village. However, during this visit, he suffered a severe leg fracture, which deeply moved him to think about those who lose their limbs permanently and live with lifelong disability. This became the seed of his life’s mission.

In 2006, a turning point came when he met Dr. Kailash Manav, Founder of Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur. Inspired by the vision of serving differently-abled people, the first camp in Kashi was organized in February 2007. Despite limited resources, the camp benefitted nearly 600 individuals — providing artificial limbs and surgeries for polio-affected patients.

Since then, over 16 such camps have been organized in Varanasi and across Eastern UP, along with special collaborations for prosthetic hands and free heart surgeries with the support of global well-wishers. In 2015, a Trust was founded to provide free physiotherapy for children suffering from cerebral palsy, benefitting hundreds of patients.

Even at the age of 75, the Founder continues to dedicate his life to bringing smiles to the faces of the differently-abled, guided by the belief that selfless service is the true path to gratitude towards God.
